LET THERE BE LIGHT💡
In the first chapter of the book of Genesis, on the second verse we are informed by the writer that all that was there mainly was a deformed Earth and something called darkness that was all over.
Genesis 1:2 KJV
[2] And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
One thing of note is that in as much as all was not in shape, the writer managed to single out and focus on one good thing that was amongst the darkness and deformity- The Spirit of God. The Spirit of God was hovering/ moving upon the face of the waters.
Do you see that despite having notable and tangible evidence of all not being well and in good shape, the eyes of the writer remained opened in anticipation for something good, and once he saw it glued his eyes on it. Looking at it, do notice that there are two things or beings that were ‘upon’ the ‘face’ of something. We have Darkness and The Spirit of God. What differentiated the two however was that Darkness was only upon the face of the deep, in other words Darkness was stagnant and immobile. The Spirit of God however ‘moved’ upon the face of the waters.
In all this, the Spirit of God was in motion, while in the dark, and was observing yet having no light. The eyes of the writer were attracted to motion. Then after all, we hear the first speech ever made and it was the hovering Spirit of God that spoke these words in verse 3 “let there be light”.
Unlike what I have heard other preachers say, that when God said ‘let there be light’ He was summoning the Darkness to let and release the Light from its captivity. When we look at verse 26, God said “let us make man in our image according to our likeness…”. This was a statement of agreement amongst the God-head, not a command. So likewise when God said “let there be Light”, He was making the first ever statement of agreement amongst the God-head. He was saying let us agree on releasing the Light that is within us. God here now wanted the Earth to receive the very same Light the Spirit of God used to see in His hovering amidst the thick darkness that was upon the face of the deep. This light is not the same as the light we see now during the day. This is a kind of light that emanated from within God, and not from the sun because here the sun had not yet been created. This is also a light that was according to His likeness.
So in conclusion, what am I saying? When you are surrounded by darkness, in the moment of formlessness and confusion what’s important is not to be stagnant just like the Darkness, but be a man/woman of action, always be about that motion as you carefully observe as well as focusing on progressing on matters of life. They say water is life hence The Spirit of God moving upon the face of the waters implies He was speaking activity and motion in all matters of your life.
Now look at what came after the hovering and observation. God made a speech. This is the first speech ever recorded. God had done thorough research and study and prepared the right speech for the right instance. He opened His mouth and said “Let there be Light”. He didn’t say “I cancel the deformity of the earth” nor “I rebuke the darkness in this earth”. God didn’t focus on the bad, but chose to speak about the manifestation of the Good that He saw was lacking. Look around and introspect your life, and speak the manifestation of the good you desire.
The Word decrees that you are the light of the world, so in your moments of darkness say let the be light within you come out and bring brightness in your area of assignment or calling. Over your marriage, ministry and business speak those words “LET THERE BE LIGHT” and you will see wonders. If you don’t open your mouth, your earth shall remain void, formless and covered with darkness on its most deepest parts. So, why haven’t you made the speech yet already?!
